Meet the people behind the book

Author, Elaine Williams, moved to New Zealand from the UK in 2018 and met Auckland based illustrator, Hannah Sames, at the Little Big Markets in Mount Maunganui where she was promoting another children's book she had illustrated. At the time, 'Arturo and the Glitter Glue' was a fledgling story in need of an artist to bring it to life. Hannah was the perfect partner for the project...

Elaine Williams, Author

Elaine Williams grew up in Scotland and moved to the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand in 2018 with her Kiwi husband and two young children.  She has always loved reading children's and young adult books for their imaginative story lines and their extraordinary characters.

She has written stories all of her life, but has been most recently inspired by the expertly crafted miniature worlds brought to life through rhyme and art in picture book form. 'Arturo and the Glitter Glue' is her first published book.

Hannah Sames, Illustrator

Hannah Sames lives in Auckland and works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. She studied Fine Art at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). As a child, she spent hours looking at picture books, the more detailed the better, and getting lost in the story, and now loves helping others bring their creative ideas to life.

Hannah also illustrated 'Long Hair if You Dare' written by Ginny Scahill. Visit Hannah's website to see more of her work.
